Ok, that Hunger Games simulation thing is pretty entertaining. I just ran my own with a random set of characters, and, umm, well. The one I reblogged was a rather peaceful one. This one... not so. xD

The very first line could be canon (Komaru shoots an arrow at Nagito, but misses and kills Ibuki instead), but soon things took some very weird turns. Also, like I said, this was an extremely violent round. Only two people died a non-violent death (Junko and Sonia, who ate toxic berries.) Other than that…

Peko bashes Mikan's head in with a mace. Hajime silently snaps Kokichi's neck. Gundham poisons Mukuro's drink. She drinks it and dies. Sonia, Mahiru, and Kyoko successfully ambush and kill Peko, Nagito, and Gundham. Komaru and Junko track down and kill Byakuya. Three people begged to be killed, and all got their wish. And then... we had this: Chihiro pushes Sakura off a cliff during a knife fight. Let's read that again. Chihiro pushes Sakura off a cliff during a knife fight. …the best part? Next line was "Chiaki questions her sanity." So would I, if I saw something like that happening. XD

But it wasn't only violence! This too happened. ^^ Junko, Byakuya, and Sonia cheerfully sing songs together.

And who was the winner, you ask? Well. Chihiro of course. And I'm ded now. XD

Now as an adult, I see this a lot more in YA media. Harry Potter, Hunger Games, Twilight, Divergant, Maze Runner, etc., all of these deride were popular and pushed for my generation to read. And what do these all show?

Children Soldiers.

But at the time we were those ages, and we simply thought about how cool it was, reading that someone our age did all of these cool things.

But now as adults rewatching/rereading these series is horrifying! Because they are CHILDREN fighting an ADULTS WAR!!!

Right in Harry Potter, Dumbledore pushed Harry to fight Voldemort multiple times! And planned for him to die every single time!

The kids reaped in the Hunger Games were 12-17, CHILDREN fight for their lives, for the Capital’s entertainment.

Bella was 16 and being emotionally manipulated by a 96 year old man! It doesn’t matter if he was changed at 16-17 years old! That is literally pedophilia!!!! Say what you want about Bella but in the first two books she was a MINOR!!!!

All of these KIDS forced into so many horrible situations, and when I was their age, I wanted ti be them. Now as an adult, I know that it’s my job to protect them.

i spent THIRTEEN YEARS waiting for an age accurate casting of percy jackson but now that it's here and i am no longer a child looking at heroes my age, i'm just plain HORRIFIED on behalf of these children.
